10 Oct Happy National Arts and Humanities Month!
From Americans for the Arts:
“On the eve of National Arts & Humanities Month, President Joseph R. Biden issued an “Executive Order on Promoting the Arts, the Humanities, and Museum and Library Services” that includes re-establishing the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities to inform and support the national engagement with Americans necessary to advance the arts, the humanities, and museum and library services. Read the full executive order on the White House website.
“For the second year in a row, President Biden also issued an official proclamation from the White House declaring October as National Arts & Humanities Month. In the proclamation, President Biden says: “For centuries, American arts and humanities have been a beacon of light and understanding, recording our history and advancing new ways of thinking. This National Arts and Humanities Month, we celebrate our Nation’s visionary artists, scholars, and creators whose work touches and reveals the soul of America.” Read the full proclamation on the White House website.
“We’d love to see YOUR local proclamations! If your mayor, county council, governor, or other officials make a proclamation celebrating National Arts & Humanities Month in your community, please share on social media with #NAHM and tag @americans4arts so we can further spread the good news.
